Just Jesus: Answers For Life

DAY 3 OF 31

Spiritual Warfare

Jesus knows that everything on earth starts in the spirit world first. He offers the blueprint to understanding the conflict between good and evil. Satan starts by attacking identity. He attacked Jesus’ identity: “If you are the Son of God...” But Jesus knew His identity and overcame. As a child of God, you are made in His image, precious in His sight. Because there is no victory without a battle first, He gives you the tools you need to overcome evil. The battle is won or lost in your mind. Don’t get caught in the web of conflicting emotions, desires and thoughts. Don’t take the battle personally. You are not the target. The battle is ultimately between God and Satan. Read the end of the Bible. The fight is fixed. You’ve already won. As you step into your God-given authority, the power of the Holy Spirit will flow through you to overcome every obstacle in your way. Because you are positioned in God’s authority, you can have peace in every spiritual battle. Your identity in Christ positions you for victory every time. Are you taking up your shield of faith for this spiritual battle?

Memory Verse

"With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." Matthew 19:26.

Declaration Prayer

I am strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might. I put on the whole armor of God, that I may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore I put on the whole armor of God, that I may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand. I stand therefore, having the utility belt of truth buckled around my waist, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having fitted my feet with the preparation of the Good News of peace; above all, taking up the shield of faith, with which I will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one. And I take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: with all prayer and requests, praying at all times in the Spirit, and being watchful to this end in all perseverance and requests for all the saints. The weapons of my warfare are not carnal, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds.
