Just Jesus: Answers For LifeSample
Depression
Feelings flow throughout the day. Sadness is a feeling we all experience depending on our circumstances. It may even be a healthy reaction to a crisis situation. It’s okay to feel sad. But it’s not okay to hold on to it or stay in it. Staying sad can lead to depression. If you feel helpless to change someone or something, you can get depressed. Don’t get trapped in the lie that you can change anyone or anything else. Change starts in your heart. You may need to forgive others - and yourself. You may even need to forgive God. Depression is epidemic in our world today because we let relationship problems isolate us. Then we think it’s okay not to connect. When I am full of myself I am full of darkness. When I am filled with the Holy Spirit I am filled with Light. Even when Jesus felt sad, He kept connected with His close friends. Don't let the devil isolate you. Connect with each other by being quick to forgive, believe the best in each other, reach for joy and extend kindness. You’re never alone.
Memory Verse
“You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” John 8:32.
Declaration Prayer
The LORD himself goes before me and will be with me; he will never leave me nor forsake me. There is no need to ever be afraid or discouraged. Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, we bless Your Holy Name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and I will not forget all the benefits You daily load me with. You have forgiven all my iniquities and healed me of every possible disease. You have redeemed my life from destruction and corruption. You beautified, dignified and crowned me with loving-kindness and tender mercies. For You did not give me a spirit of timidity of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear, but You have given me a spirit of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control. You satisfy my every desire with good things so that my youth is renewed within me and that I may soar in this life, like an eagle. The LORD hears me when I call to him for help. He rescues me from all my troubles. I waited patiently for the LORD; And He inclined to me and heard my cry. He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay, and He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; Many will see and fear and will trust in the LORD.
