Gospel Hope: Devotions From Time of GraceSample
He’s Everywhere
Do you remember the old "Chickenman" superhero spoof? “He’s everywhere! He’s everywhere,” the crowd would chant. Well, no he isn’t. Nobody is everywhere, though it’s a pleasant fantasy to think that a superhero like Batman could keep vigil over the entire Gotham City.
If only people really believed that God is everywhere. It would terrify unbelievers, leading them to repent, and it would provide great comfort to believers. But guess what – God really is the ultimate security cam: “The eyes of the LORD are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good” (Proverbs 15:3).
Think of the ramifications: He tracks and remembers all human activity. He is intensely interested in what every human being is doing (His capacity is so infinite that He can even track each bird in nature). You can totally rest easy about evil and justice because He will take care of it in His time.
And you never have to fear that you’ve been abandoned. God sees everything in your life. He cares about you and is committed to you accomplishing your mission in life. He is never out of radio contact and will be there when you need a rescue.
