It's Personal

DAG 13 AF 25

Sometimes, when facing difficult circumstances, it can feel like we are the only ones. We can feel isolated, alone, and powerless. The verse from John above are words Jesus spoke, and he did it the night before he was arrested and then killed. In other words, Jesus himself was familiar with trouble and difficulty. Even the Son of God knew what it was like to face overwhelming circumstances. This means we aren’t alone when dealing with trouble. Jesus has been there. But no matter what we are facing, we can be confident that nothing is stronger than Jesus and what he overcame—death itself. That may not change the circumstances we are facing. But it can change the way we see those circumstances—with a peace that is bigger than our difficulty and a perspective that takes Jesus and his love and promise into account.

So today, challenge yourself to find your peace in Jesus. Let Jesus bring you the peace you need. Spend time with Him, reading the Bible, and finding out who He is. As you read the word and talk to God about your situation, you’ll be surprised at the peace that comes into your life.

It's Personal

Everyone is different, yet we all share a common quality. Deep down, we were created to be deeply known by others and by God. We were made to experience relationships with others and a relationship with God that’s personal. Because when it’s personal, it changes things. Things matter more. People matter more. Over the next few weeks, we will discover a personal God and what that means for us.
