Yna dyma Elias yn dweud wrth Ahab, “Dos i fwyta ac yfed, achos mae yna sŵn glaw trwm yn dod.” Felly dyma Ahab yn mynd i fwyta ac yfed, ond aeth Elias i fyny i gopa mynydd Carmel. Plygodd i lawr i weddïo, â’i wyneb ar lawr rhwng ei liniau. A dyma fe’n dweud wrth ei was, “Dos i fyny i edrych allan dros y môr.” Dyma’r gwas yn mynd i edrych, a dweud, “Does dim byd yna”. Saith gwaith roedd rhaid i Elias ddweud, “Dos eto”. Yna’r seithfed tro dyma’r gwas yn dweud, “Mae yna gwmwl bach, dim mwy na dwrn dyn, yn codi o’r môr.” A dyma Elias yn dweud, “Brysia i ddweud wrth Ahab, ‘Dringa i dy gerbyd a dos adre, rhag i ti gael dy ddal yn y storm.’” Cyn pen dim roedd cymylau duon yn yr awyr, gwynt yn chwythu a glaw trwm. Roedd Ahab yn gyrru i fynd yn ôl i Jesreel. A dyma’r ARGLWYDD yn rhoi nerth goruwchnaturiol i Elias. Dyma fe’n rhwymo’i wisg am ei ganol a rhedeg o flaen cerbyd Ahab yr holl ffordd i Jesreel.

Dywedodd Elias wrth Ahab, “Dos yn ôl, cymer fwyd a diod, oherwydd y mae sŵn glaw.” Felly aeth Ahab yn ei ôl i fwyta ac yfed, ond aeth Elias i fyny i ben Carmel, a gwargrymu ar y ddaear nes bod ei wyneb rhwng ei liniau. Yna dywedodd wrth ei lanc, “Dos di i fyny ac edrych tua'r môr.” Ac wedi iddo fynd ac edrych dywedodd, “Nid oes dim i'w weld.” A saith waith y dywedodd wrtho, “Dos eto.” A'r seithfed tro dywedodd y llanc, “Mae yna gwmwl bychan fel cledr llaw yn codi o'r môr.” Yna dywedodd Elias wrtho, “Dos, dywed wrth Ahab, ‘Gwna dy gerbyd yn barod a dos, rhag i'r glaw dy rwystro.’ ” Ar fyr dro duodd yr awyr gan gymylau a gwynt, a bu glaw trwm; ond yr oedd Ahab wedi gyrru yn ei gerbyd a chyrraedd Jesreel. Daeth llaw yr ARGLWYDD ar Elias, tynhaodd yntau rwymyn am ei lwynau, a rhedodd o flaen Ahab hyd at y fynedfa i Jesreel.

Ac Eleias a ddywedodd wrth Ahab, Dos i fyny, bwyta ac yf; canys wele drwst llawer o law. Felly Ahab a aeth i fyny i fwyta ac i yfed. Ac Eleias a aeth i fyny i ben Carmel; ac a ymostyngodd ar y ddaear, ac a osododd ei wyneb rhwng ei liniau; Ac a ddywedodd wrth ei lanc, Dos i fyny yn awr, edrych tua’r môr. Ac efe a aeth i fyny ac a edrychodd, ac a ddywedodd, Nid oes dim. Dywedodd yntau, Dos eto saith waith. A’r seithfed waith y dywedodd efe, Wele gwmwl bychan fel cledr llaw gŵr yn dyrchafu o’r môr. A dywedodd yntau, Dos i fyny, dywed wrth Ahab, Rhwym dy gerbyd, a dos i waered, fel na’th rwystro y glaw. Ac yn yr ennyd honno y nefoedd a dduodd gan gymylau a gwynt; a bu glaw mawr. Ac Ahab a farchogodd, ac a aeth i Jesreel. A llaw yr ARGLWYDD oedd ar Eleias; ac efe a wregysodd ei lwynau, ac a redodd o flaen Ahab nes ei ddyfod i Jesreel.
