You Are Gifted: Encouraging
Are you a gifted person? Do you think of yourself as gifted? If your definition is restricted to being a world-class violinist or physicist, you might think, “No, I’m not gifted; I’m pretty ordinary.”
God has a much broader view of gifts. Just as he brought you to faith in Jesus Christ, he also placed his gift-giving Spirit in you so that you could offer yourself as a living sacrifice back to him. All of God’s people have something to give. The Bible says, “We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If someone’s gift is . . . encouraging, let him encourage” (Romans 12:6,8).
Think of it--God highly prizes those who have the ability to lift others up by their kind words and praise.
