Daily Encouragement
How wonderful that this gospel invitation stands so clearly written on the last page of Revelation, which is the final book in the divine library! “The water of life” is freely offered to all who come. No works are called for. Just a thirst and a willingness to come.

All the fitness he requireth,
Is to feel your need of Him.

The Holy Spirit and the Church are the channel of this call - “The Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come!’” To have responded to the call is to want to pass it on, at least by way of testimony - “And let him who hears say, ‘Come!’”

I came to Jesus, and I drank
Of that life-giving stream;
My thirst was quenched, my soul revived,
And now I live in Him.

To have come is to have been received, never to be cast out (John 6:37). And yet we come again and again for our encouragement, as a child to the Father, as a lover to the Beloved.

The Lord is rich and merciful,
The Lord is very kind;
O come to Him, come now to Him
with a believing mind;
His comforts, they shall strengthen thee,
Like flowing waters cool;
And He shall for thy spirit be
A fountain ever full.
