Daily Encouragementنموونە
This is a command of which we need to be reminded, not least because of our tendency to have low thoughts of God. This is the case because our sinful nature tends toward a pagan view of God. Then Satan is active in denying his love, as he has been from the beginning - “for God knows . . . your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God” (Gen. 3:4-5).
It is a command designed, as is all God’s truth, to set us free - free to live and serve in the sunshine:
Let me sing, for the glory of heaven
Like a sunbeam has swept o’er my heart:
I would praise Thee for sins all forgiven,
For Thy love, which shall never depart.
Free to love God, his people and his world. Free to look forward with hope.
Loved in the past of yesterday,
And all along our future way,
And in the present of today,
For ever loved.
It is a command to obey. We need to believe in his love as demonstrated at Calvary (Rom. 5:8) and to receive it in our hearts (vs. 5:5).
God is love: O soul believe it;
Bask beneath His love’s warm rays,
Till they life shall catch its glory,
And thou, too, with love shall blaze.
