Lessons From the Book of Jobنموونە

Life gets messy
Salaam!
Life gets messy… In my life, that is often quite literally the case. Our son occasionally has massive blow-out diapers that leave him covered in poop from his knees to halfway up his back. When that happens, I need to take a deep breath and just clean, clean, clean.
Of course, this doesn’t compare to the real hardships many of us face. Sometimes we know the reason why bad things happen but most times we don’t understand.
Isaiah 43:2 says:
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you”.
Did you notice it says ‘when’ you pass through and not ‘if’? As long as we are on this side of heaven, life can get messy. Jesus also said:
“In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” - John 16:33
Friend, I want you to remember that hardships are inevitable. Suffering is temporary, but God’s blessings are eternal.
Revelation 21:4 says:
“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the former things have passed away”.
Even Job’s unimaginable agony came to an end, and God blessed the latter part of his life twice as much as the former - Job 42:12-16.
The song 'Seasons' by Hillsong pulled me through a season of hardship. As you listen to it, I pray that you can shift your eyes away from your hardships and refocus on Jesus.
Hey! You are a Chamatkar.
