Sermon on the Mount: The Beatitudesنموونە
Day 29:
Living the Beatitudes
Becoming salt and light
Jesus calls His followers “the salt of the earth” and “the light of the world.” - Matthew 5:13-16. As salt, we are to preserve goodness and add the flavor of God’s love to the world. As light, we are called to shine brightly, illuminating the truth of God’s word and guiding others to Him. This calling is both a privilege and a responsibility, reminding us that our words and actions can influence those around us.
Being salt and light means living out our faith in practical, tangible ways. It could be through acts of kindness, standing up for what is right, or sharing our hope in Christ. It also means living with integrity and authenticity so that others see the love and grace of Jesus reflected in our lives. Our witness is strongest when it flows naturally from a heart transformed by God.
Let us pray for boldness and wisdom to be faithful witnesses, bringing God’s kingdom into every place we go. May our lives be a beacon of hope and a testimony of His love.
Prayer focus:
Praying to be a witness of God’s kingdom through your words and actions.

The Sermon on the Mount is one of the most incredible passages of scripture in the entire Bible. It is the longest passage of Jesus speaking without interruption. The Beatitudes, or attitudes of supreme blessing, are a roadmap for our lives, teaching us to reflect the nature of Jesus Christ in every interaction. Throughout this devotional, we will spend three days on each beatitude, ending with a focus on applying the entirety of it to our daily lives.
