How to pursue a deep partnership in the gospel?
When we are a part of the wider body of Christ, we are able to see the richness and depth of relationship that shape us and make us more like Jesus. There is something compelling about men and women who are deeply committed to community because what unites them is their affection for Jesus. It's attractive seeing people truly be for one another.
We see this in Paul’s opening prayer and letter to the Philippians. He loves them deeply, and they love him deeply. There is a commitment that they talk about, where no matter their distance or difference, they are united by the shared belief that what has started in them, God will bring to completion.
As believers we are able to yearn for our own affections and discernment to grow, but we are empowered to join Jesus in interceding on behalf of those around us, whom we love, that they grow in their walk with the Lord. That is how we can pursue deeper partnerships with one another; because where personal discipleship grows, deeper partnership in the gospel follows.
Today, ponder this: How can a deeper conviction that Jesus will complete the good work that he began in you shape your prayer life?
