The Deliverer Has Come: A 5-Day Reading Plan for Kidsنموونە
Day 2: Singing Praise
One night, Anika woke up to the most beautiful sound of singing.
Glowing angels filled the sky!
“The Deliverer has come! Emmanuel. God has come to His people tonight!”
Have you ever been so happy that you just burst out singing a song? That’s the kind of song Anika hears in this story.
When Jesus was born, the angels sang with delight. God came to be with us, real human people, big and small. He loves each of us so much that He wanted to live amongst us, to help us, to save us, and to teach us to follow a good and loving God. When we are afraid or discouraged, we remember God’s promise that He will never leave us. He loves us always.
Questions/Activities:
- Draw a singing angel and color it in. Write out (or ask an adult for help) a promise from God that you want to remember today.
- What is something that you are thankful for? Sing a song of thanks to God for that good thing in your life.
Prayer:
Dear Jesus, thank You that You are always with me and that You love me always. Help me know Your love and presence with me today.

About this Plan
Inspired by the picture book of the same name, this devotional will help families with young children learn about the hope and promise of Jesus’s birth. Just as Advent prepares us to remember Jesus’s coming to a people and a world that was waiting for rescue, children will be invited to prayerfully trust in God and wait on Him to answer prayers as they wait.
