Everything at Your Feet From Mosaic MSC

DAY 8 OF 9

The Middle of It All

Life can be full of challenging and difficult seasons–moments where we think everything is going according to our plan, and suddenly one thing happens that shakes up our entire universe. These moments can ignite a mountain of questions within us: What is my trust in? What do I default to when things are hard? How can I navigate back to a place of peace?

In this passage in Matthew, Jesus and the disciples are in the midst of a very real and frightening storm. The disciples are fearing for their lives, certain they will drown, and Jesus asks them, “why are you so afraid?” While their fear in that moment was both human and understandable, what Jesus spoke to them showed we should not stand in the middle of life’s storms alone. He is the one who can not only bring us peace, but peace to the storm we’ve found ourselves in.

CALL TO ACTION

As you reflect on this passage, think about how you tend to deal with the storms of your life. You may be in the midst of a storm right now. Do you trust yourself to take you through it, or do you believe that God will be with you in the middle of it?

PRAYER

God, thank You for being my source of peace. Thank You for always standing with me when I end up in moments of difficulty, confusion, and chaos. Help me hear Your voice in moments where I feel overwhelmed, burdened, and worn out. Give me the strength to move from fear to trust in the midst of trials. Thank You for standing with me when I need you most. –Colin Dennard
