Be a Blessing, Reach the World for Christنموونە
Even those who doubt should be a blessing
To be a blessing to the people around us is quite a challenge. Telling people about Jesus is not always easy, especially in European countries where religion is often limited to the privacy of our homes. Yet Jesus gives all His followers this command: "Go therefore, teach all the nations". Actually, it says something like "...while going, teach all the nations." Jesus expects us to give up our comfortable position and talk about Him wherever we are. He promises us that He will always be with us and that He has all the power! So we don’t need to fear anything, because He is with us.
Yet we also read something remarkable, namely that "some doubted" (Matthew 28:17b). So He gave this command not only to the fully committed disciples but also to the doubters among them. In the gospel of Luke (24:37), we read who they were. They were the disciples who thought Jesus was a ghost when He suddenly stood in the midst of them. Jesus wants to use even people that are still doubting. You too can be used by God, even though you may have doubts and do not see yourself as a 'model Christian'. God wants to use those who are available to Him.
And also to these doubters, He says "I am with you" and "I have all power", so don't worry. All peoples, languages and nations need to be reached through people like you and me! Indeed, Jesus says in Matthew 24:14 that He will not return before the whole world has had the chance to hear the Gospel.
This is also why it is so important that we send people out to nations that have not yet been reached. Pray that God will use you to reach these people. This is made possible through your prayers, your finances or by witnessing yourself.
Pray today for the Fulbe (Fula/Fulani people) in West Africa. They are nomadic people who live as migrating herdsmen in West Africa. In total, there are more than 5 million of them. However, only a handful have come to know Jesus.
Pray also for the Soninke people. They live in small-sized villages along the Senegal River on the border of Mali. Due to the influence of the Fulbe/Fulani, the Soninke have become farmers and pastoralists. There are only a few believers among them. Those who have put their faith in Jesus are severely persecuted.
