God's Promises to Youنموونە
A Wonderful Guarantee
“I will strengthen you” (Isaiah 41:10)
When we're called to serve or endure suffering, we often assess our own strength and find it lacking—it is much less than we imagined and certainly less than we believe we require. But let's not allow our hearts to sink when we have such a promise to rely on, guaranteeing us all that we could possibly need. God possesses omnipotent strength; He can impart that strength to us, and His promise assures us that He will do so. He sustains our souls and fortifies our spirits, granting us the necessary strength. The extent of power God can infuse into a person is immeasurable; when divine strength is granted, human weakness ceases to be a hindrance.
Can't we recall times of toil and tribulation when we were granted extraordinary strength, marveling at our own resilience? In the face of danger, we remained peaceful; amidst loss, we found acceptance; amid slander, we remained composed, and in illness, we endured patiently. God provides unforeseen strength when we encounter exceptional trials, elevating us beyond our frailty. The timid exhibit courage, the foolish gain wisdom, and the speechless find words precisely when needed. Though my own weakness may cause me to recoil, it's God's promise that emboldens me. Lord, empower me "according to your word."
