Day 4: Jesus is Your Victory

“Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name...” Philippians 2:9 NIV

There is a peace that comes from God that can pervade your very being. It’s stronger than fear, calming your heart and soul – even calming your mind and body.

When you feel fear, doubt, or dread creeping in, what can you do? We’ve talked about trusting and submitting to God. We’ve explored spiritual warfare and how important it is to resist the enemy's attack.

And, we’ve looked at ways you can begin every day with a mind set on God, equipped to pray when you feel anxious. There’s one more thing you can do to calm your anxious heart.

Speak Jesus.

Speak the name that is above every other thing that can be named: fear, anxiety, panic, worry, dread. When you speak the name of Jesus, this swirl of emotions must bow. They must flee. They have no right to stay in your life when you call on the name of your Lord and Savior.

“...the reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.” I John 3:8

There is a war raging in spiritual places, but you don’t have to be a casualty. God has won the victory over all the works of the evil one. Your role is to maintain that victory in your very own soul.

Yes, it’s a fight. Yes, it may seem like a hard battle. But you can win the war over your soul by following God’s guidebook, his word and his way to win your life back and walk in his great peace.

Speak the name of Jesus. Be confident in the power that is in his name.

Pray this prayer with me:

I speak the name of Jesus over my life. I declare his name over every bit of fear, anxiety and panic that tries to rule my life. Jesus is my Lord and I submit all that I am to him. God, I receive your great peace now. In Jesus’ name, amen.

As you pray this prayer, receive the peace of God. Let all anxiety go. Breathe deeply and let God calm your heart. We have one more very important devotional for you to live in God’s peace. I’ll see you on Day 5.
