Battling Anxiety – God’s Path to Peaceنموونە
Day 1: God is Your Help
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the sea.” Psalm 46:1-2 NLT
Fear. Anxiety. Panic. It can come out of nowhere. Have you experienced it? Are you experiencing it now?
Your heart pounds and your hands grow sweaty. Apprehension and dread threaten to choke the very life out of you.
You are not alone. Statistics show that anxiety is on the rise. Perhaps a fallout from the pandemic, perhaps a result of our society’s infatuation with social media.
It may affect your work performance, friendships and relationships, and even your health.
I have good news for you. There is help. There is rescue. There is deliverance for you. You do not have to live with this.
God offers peace in the middle of a storm – in the middle of your storm. Even if you can’t pinpoint the source of anxiety, He can. He can intervene. He can dispel all fear, doubt and anxiety.
Your help begins by trusting him and his word. By putting your life in his hands. By simply saying, “I trust you, God.”
Can you do that? Can you believe that God is your help? Can you believe that he is the answer to the panic and anxiety that is overriding your life?
Overcoming anxiety and walking in God’s peace begins with a simple prayer of trust. If you’re ready, say this prayer out loud with me:
God, I trust you. I believe you are my refuge and strength. You are my ever-present help in trouble. No matter what’s going on around me, no matter what’s going on inside me, you are my help. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
You do not have to live with anxiety. Tomorrow, we’ll look at more ways to push back and overcome this enemy of your soul.
