All Our Days

Creation sings the praises of the Creator. From the highest mountains to the most expansive of valleys, trees of myriad sizes, and animals of near-infinite diversity, everything exists as a testimony of the glory of God. In all of its manifold extravagance and breathtaking beauty, what incredible awe could radiate from the Source of all these things?

God, while being the life source of all creation, inclines His ear towards us to hear our prayers, to protect and console us. Though He rules the heavens and the earth with unmatched power, He looks upon the righteous with love and care.

When calamity comes, the believer knows that though God is glorious and holy – though He is utterly pure, He invites us into His company. We are welcome to call on this glorious God in times of trouble – and He will act to save!

Psalm 18:2 uses a variety of metaphors to tell us that God is our protector and deliverer. He protects us from harm and delivers us from danger. How have you experienced God as your rock, fortress, shield, and deliverer? And, in what areas of your life do you still struggle to trust God to be your protector and deliverer? Spend a few minutes in prayer and surrender before God anything in your life that causes anxiety, fear, and uncertainty. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you as your protector and deliverer. God wants to reveal His saving arm to you. He wants you to trust Him as your rock and refuge.
