The Outcome Of Following Christ

Those who followed Jesus got a ringside view of all that He did. They saw the miracles, they saw the restoration, they saw the raising of the dead, they saw the unconditional acceptance of outcasts and rejects. They ate their fill of the multiplied bread, they enjoyed the calming down of stormy seas and they visited with those they may never have sat at tables with!

When you and I truly follow Jesus, we begin to have these experiences. Jesus Himself said that we who believe in Him will do greater works than Him.

Isn’t that amazing?

The question is will we choose to follow Jesus that closely?

Would I be willing to take up my cross, deny myself on a daily basis and follow Him with all my heart, soul, mind and strength?

It’s not a question you should take lightly. You must consider the price you will pay but also take into consideration the countless rewards that await such a surrendered life. When you choose to walk in such closeness with Jesus, you will begin to experience the things the disciples experienced when they followed Jesus on earth. Not just that, because you believe Him without seeing Him, your reward is greater. Added to that is the incredible gift of the Holy Spirit who helps us live with insight and power so that we don’t just get transformed but we bring transformation to the world around us!
