Day 3 - Move Again In Our Families
God moves in response to our prayers. He’s an initiator and a responder. In the Bible, we see numerous examples of God's movement in the lives of families.
From Abraham and Sarah, who experienced the miracle of having a child in their old age, to the prodigal son, who was welcomed back with open arms by his loving father; God's handiwork in families is evident throughout Scripture. But it's not just something we read about in the Bible. God is still moving in families today, and we have the privilege of witnessing and experiencing His transformative power firsthand.
Sometimes he initiates and sometimes he simply responds to our prayers. Jabez, in 1 Chronicles 4, is a man who prayed a simple but profound prayer, and God did it. This prayer asks for four things: blessing, increase, God’s presence, and God’s protection.
Following Jabez’s prayer, we can take his lead in our own family.
First, that God would bless our family financially, not for us to hoard, but that we might be able to forward the blessing to others.
Second, He would give us greater influence, not for personal gain but to glorify God’s name. Our home is the single most powerful arena on earth to change a life for God. For families, God wants us to be asking him to enlarge and move within our territories.
Third, that God’s hand would be with us. We know God is always with us, but we could be more aware, and have a more sensitive ear to His voice in pivotal moments.
Finally, that God would protect us. Petition for the supernatural to move in and on our family to protect us from Satan.
Meditation Questions:
- What does it mean to you to have God move in your family? Are there any specific areas of breakthrough required?
- What was God’s purpose in creating humanity in family units?
- What would it look like for society to experience healing and restoration with each other in their families?

About this Plan
Over the next few days, we will discover together how God wants to move in our hearts, families, churches, and workplaces. Maybe one of these areas seems more significant to your current season, and you need God to move and break through in a major way. This plan will help us discover and remember that God is able and willing to do more.
