5 Days of Comfort: Count Your Blessings and Stop Stressingنموونە
The Long Wait for God
The story of David provides many powerful examples of waiting for the Lord. He went through multiple seasons of extended trial, hardship, and pain that forced him to wait for God to act and make good on his promises. David chronicled all the emotions of those times in the beautiful book of Psalms.
It’s not easy to wait patiently for the Lord. We often need his immediate help, and yet we have to exercise patience while we wait for God to move. But we know that he is faithful who promised and that he inclines his ear to us and hears our cry. We have patience because we trust his great wisdom to deliver us in his perfect timing. In the meantime, we are reminded that it is God’s faithfulness that took us out of the horrible pit of sin, set our feet upon the rock, and established our steps. We may be waiting for God to act for us right now, but we can remember all the past actions of God on our behalf. If you’re waiting on God today, think back to specific moments when he has wonderfully and kindly helped you in the past. He has heard, answered, and rescued you so many times before, and he will do so again.
Prayer: Father, give me patience and faith in you.
