It's Giving...Idol.نموونە
DAY 10: WRAP UP.
My grandmother used to say, “Don’t stop until your good is better, and your better is best.”
God holds us accountable for what we know. If we know better, we should do better. Not in our own strength, but with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. That takes FAITH.
When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we don’t change overnight. It is a process. Every journey looks and feels different, so we can’t idolize someone else’s process. We also can’t expect things to change if we aren’t willing to put in some effort.
According to Albert Einstein, “the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again while expecting a different result.”
If you’re long overdue for a fresh start and tired of “winging it," DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT. Let’s be intentional about our lives, purpose, and eternity. We don’t have to wait for the arrival of a new year in order to grow.
The time is NOW. Let’s leave the idols in the past and move forward into the purpose and passion God has placed inside of you. It’s time to do what we were created to do.
What is God telling YOU to do? It’s time to get into a godly community and give glory to the ONE TRUE LIVING GOD, and today's a great day to start.
PRAY WITH ME: “Dear Lord, thank you for loving me even when I idolized other people, places, and things over You. Forgive me for turning to sources outside of you. I want to live a life that pleases you and I know You created me and want the absolute best for me. I’m tired of living in my own strength. Please reveal yourself to me. I confess that I need Your help, Lord. Help me to be reminded to run to You, Jesus, when I’m feeling weak. When I need advice, let me run to You FIRST. When I need a hug, let me run to You FIRST. When things are going well, let me not forget where good things come from. I need You; I love You, and I trust You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
About this Plan
Idolatry isn’t always “in your face.” It’s actually a very subtle thing, and we’re ALL guilty. In this 10-day plan, let's define idolatry, identify idols in our own lives, and get helpful tips on how to avoid "the drift" toward idolatry, known and unknown. This plan will inspire and reveal truth about ways we allow people, places, things, and even world ideologies to take God's role in our lives.
