Water-Walking Faithنموونە
Water-walkers hear
Some people totally love deafening rock concerts. Some people always have their phones on silent. We may have differing preferences when it comes to the various noises that reverberate through our daily lives, but as followers of Jesus we’re all designed to hear the voice of God – through His Word, and through His Spirit in us. We can learn to tune into God’s frequency and hear from Him as we pursue a life of water-walking faith.
In Matthew 14, Peter received Jesus’ invitation (‘Come!’) and responded to it. In a sense, Peter didn’t just stand on water; he stood on a word. Peter wasn’t looking for a strategy. He was listening for a voice. It wasn’t so much what was being said but rather who was saying it. It was Jesus’ word to Peter that sustained him to keep walking on water.
Like He did for Peter, God has a word for you personally – for your future, your purpose, your destiny. God can bring peace and perspective into even difficult or uncertain circumstances as you anchor any significant decision or new direction in a word from Him. A word from God can calm a storm, raise the dead, or bring an entire universe into being. He created communication and He is constantly speaking to us – and yet so often we don’t position ourselves or create space in our lives to receive a word from God. And we need God’s logos (the written word of God to us in the Bible) and God’s rhema (His current, immediate word to us within the circumstances we find ourselves), to live a life of water-walking faith. Finding the frequency of God’s voice also helps us discern between good options and God options, and trains us toward obedience and ultimate success.
In Romans 10:17, Paul says, ‘Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.’ Water-walking faith that gives you the courage to step into the unknown comes from hearing God’s word to you. May God give you fresh ideas of ways to create latitude in your life to hear Him speaking to you.

About this Plan
Your dream isn’t in the boat. It’s on the waves. God is calling you to step out. In this six-day plan, Jason Mendis walks us out onto the water, to the astonishing encounter between Peter and Jesus. Those who have water-walking faith are brave enough to launch into the unknown. They hear the voice of God. Acting on it, they fix their gaze on Jesus and trust Him.
