God Sees You!نموونە
Your Identity in Christ
God loves you the way you are. Think about that for a moment. The way you are right now, today. How do you feel about yourself? Do most of your attempts to measure up feel like failures?
At my church, I work in the sound booth as the person who controls the lights and the lyrics. For a long time I saw the job as just a behind-the-scenes job. From my perspective, no one really noticed the people in the background. It was later pointed out to me that the workers “in the background” were vital to helping worship go smoothly.
Despite your differences with your peers, God loves you the way you are! He is always watching over you and providing for you. The Bible talks about how God “clothes the grass of the field.” Matthew 6:26-27 also talks about how the birds “do not sow or reap, and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them.”
Think of all the different flowers in a garden. There are so many varieties of flowers, even those in the same species. Take the lily for example; there are over 100 different types of lilies in the world. They all look, smell, and act differently; but they are all in the lily family.
We are also different in our own unique ways. We look different, enjoy different hobbies, and have our own special talents. What would the world look like if we all looked the same? Did the same things? The world would look like it was filled with a bunch of robots instead of a family.
God is called our Father for a reason. When we accept His Son Jesus Christ as our Savior, we belong to God’s family. God always cares, provides, and loves His children like a loving parent, like a precious possession. And together like a family, we make up the church.
Learning about how deep God’s love is, and knowing that it never ends is enough to satisfy every believer. We don’t have to constantly chase the approval of others nor be discouraged by the feeling of “not enough.” Even though we aren’t perfect, there is so much freedom in knowing we don’t have to be.
Our value comes from who we are in Christ. No amount of trying to prove ourselves can ever take away our status of belonging to God’s family.
I hope this plan encouraged you to see your true value. For a children's book, The Little Sparrow, about value from God's perspective, go here.
