God Sees You!نموونە
The Need to Be Seen
Have you ever been in the background, felt like a wall flower, or tried so hard to be noticed only to be passed over for a promotion or recognition?
No matter how hard you try to put yourself into the spotlight for that little bit of recognition, usually it doesn’t go as planned. Either no one noticed that amazing thing you did, or you were asked to be quiet. So how do we lessen our human desire to be viewed as important or valuable?
As humans we have a basic need to be seen, safe, and soothed. It’s human to want connection with others. We long to be a part of something or belong in a group. Often we struggle to find our fit. The good news is God designed each of us with different talents and skills, so that we can work together in harmony.
We learned yesterday the Bible calls God, “El Roi” meaning “The One Who sees me.” God constantly has His eye on you, and notices everything you do. In many ways this is encouraging news. Have you ever wondered what gets God’s attention?
I don’t have any children, but I do have three silly cats. The funny antics they perform daily makes me happy. Even the simplest things they do – like napping in a window, or messing with my yarn as I’m crocheting – makes me happy.
Many of my friends call me up to brag about their children’s funny antics, as well as their talents. Those parents love watching their kids use their talents. It’s the same way with God. God is the One who gave you your amazing talents. He loves seeing you using those same talents He blessed you with, especially when you’re using them to praise and thank Him.
You can be sure God sees you. He is proud of you, and you can know you are approved by Him to do what He has called you to do. He has already given you His stamp of approval. Using your talents for God and serving His people are actions that get His attention, not to mention how you love people. He sees your acts of love and kindness and they warm His heart because that is when we look most like Him. It’s another way we can express honor to Him and glorify His name.
