Thirsty

DAY 2 OF 3

Psalm 63 is a song of David in the middle of the desert. We all experience deserts in our lives. Maybe not physical, but spiritual. Times of not seeing rain around us. Of feeling the heat, the lack of air, where we don't see anything happening, where we seem to be alone. God seems to be gone. But He never leaves—because He is faithful, because He loves us, and because He never fails. And when we are led into the desert, it is not to learn a lesson that we need to learn alone with God. He does not leave us; He enters the desert with us. He accompanies us; He guides us; and above all, He feeds us.

In this instantaneous world, we need to feel the thirst for God, to really experience it and understand how much we need Him. Sometimes we get so busy that we are unaware of dehydration. Haven't you ever been so busy and overworked that you forgot to eat? Or have forgotten to do something important? Many times we are not aware that we need something, and that is why the Word of God reminds us. Without water, human beings cannot live for a long time; the organs will start to fail, and in 3–5 days we will die. Without God, the same thing happens to us. If you are aware that you have drifted away from Him and that your relationship has grown cold, go running into His presence and quench your thirst. If someone around you is getting dehydrated, bring them to the Source of eternal life, before it is too late.
