You Don't Quite Fit In Here
I was sitting on the balcony of my hotel expecting to enjoy a quiet evening, but the band that was playing down by the pool, yeah, what can I say, it was so loud I was really struggling with it. The noise was spoiling the whole evening for me.
I was so annoyed by this booming band that I completely missed how good they were. Really good. But for me, they were simply in the wrong place during my relaxing time. They were not what I wanted to hear then and there.
At that moment I thought, "Can it be that sometimes we want to give up in life because our gift is not appreciated, even though we really have that gift and are really good at it?"
Just because people around may say, "Ah, that bothers me, that's too loud, that doesn't fit here," do we give up and leave our gift unused for the rest of our lives?
Do you recognize yourself here? That would be really bad and really sad! Because what you can do so well is needed! It is valuable! Please don't give up just because people have said, "That doesn't fit here!" Find the place where your gift is seen and appreciated!
God has given you a gift, now you should go to the right place with it!
Yes, sometimes it takes a lot of trying. It is a trial and error process, and regressions are also part of it. I could write a song about that.
But if you keep at it, you will get to where people want to hear you at all times of the day and at whatever volume, because they will recognize that you are using your gift for God!
"The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." (Deuteronomy 31:8 NIV)
Look on the bright side! You are onto something that is important, that is valuable!
You are a miracle!
