God's Redemption Story (Exodus - Joshua)نموونە
The idea of “fear not” appears in the Bible 365 times. While great in concept, it feels like one of those easier-said-than-done things. We can’t control our fear, right? Miriam-Webster.com defines fear as “an unpleasant, often strong emotion caused by anticipation or awareness of danger.” That means fear is caused by what we’re focusing on - 365 times, the Bible calls us out on our focus.
When we live in fear, we are choosing to focus on the danger that could be instead of the God who is. Fear tells us we must face the danger alone, that our strength is the only defense. That’s a lie. When we turn our focus to God, who delivers His people, we defeat our fear. The Bible reminds us that God doesn’t ask us to overcome fear alone because He is our reason not to fear.
