Truth! Righteousness! The Gospel of Peace! Faith! Salvation and God’s Spirit! With these strengthening us on the inside, we can be strong!
There are many different kinds of belts, like tool belts and leather belts. Even superheroes have a utility belt. A belt holds things together around your waist. The truth of Jesus, the truth of God’s Word, encircles all the way around us in every part of our life. One of the ways the enemy tries to attack us is through lies. The enemy might try to trick us into wrong thinking. When we know the truth, we can spot lies a mile off!
How about the breastplate in the armor of God? The breastplate covers the chest and protects vital organs like the heart. Righteousness is about the heart, it’s not just doing the right thing but having the right heart attitude. Like going to church or doing the right thing not because you HAVE to but because you WANT to.
We live with righteousness through Jesus because we want to live a life that honors Him.
