I AM a Ready Woman: A Morning Meditation Series From Manifesther Dailyنموونە
My besties and I love planning girls’ nights out. We do everything from dinner to games to weekend trips with each other and enjoy much needed “girl time.” One weekend, we took a makeup class in which we learned how to make different types of makeup. We learned that before there was eyeliner as we know it; women used ash as eyeliner. I found it interesting that something that would have been traditionally thrown away was used to beautify.
While new to me, this concept isn’t new to God. The Bible shares that although you may have grieved in the past, that He will trade ashes for beauty. He will give you a crown of beauty instead of ashes. God is calling you out of the past and into your future. In this place, He has established beauty for you.
Isaiah 61 describes the restoration of Israel and the blessings God would provide for it. Even though Israel was despised by other nations, God would rebuild it and make it resplendent.
In a similar way, God is beautifying you today. If there was any blemish in your past, He has forgiven it. If there was a reason to cry, He is healing your heart. If there was darkness, He is becoming your light. If you were ever despised by others, He’s bringing you into a place of prominence. Through His tremendous love for you, He is beautifying you. But why does God do these things for you?
God did this for Israel because He loved Israel and wanted to make it a fitting place for Him, as the Messiah, to rule and reside.
God beautifies you because He loves you, and He wants to shape you to resemble Him, making your heart a beautiful place for Him to reside. Like the bridegroom lifts the veil of His bride, God wants you to see Him clearly, soaking in His glory, transforming you into His image.
“So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.” 2 Corinthians 3:18
God is beautifying you today—for His glory and for your restoration.
Today’s Affirmation
The beauty of God is captivating, and as I see Him today, I am changed. I am transformed into His image, and I have the mind of Christ. There is a light sourced from God in me that shines everywhere I go. Others see my radiance and are blessed today. The Holy Spirit rules in my heart and directs my steps. I am beautiful and beautifully purposed.
