I AM a Ready Woman: A Morning Meditation Series From Manifesther Dailyنموونە
The phrase “stay ready so you don’t have to get ready” became popular because it was an easy way for people to remind themselves to remain motivated. It means that if you do the work to get ready, you’ll then want to ensure that you don’t lose progress and preparedness by remaining ready so that you can seize an opportunity when it presents itself. Yesterday, we discussed God’s promises of presence, protection, and purpose; today, we’re going to discuss prosperity, which is a natural result when you steward your readiness well.
Spiritual readiness requires stewardship, meaning that once you get ready, you need to stay ready.
In Matthew 25:1–16, Jesus shares a parable about ten virgins waiting for the bridegroom. In the story, five of the ten were foolish and didn’t take oil with them, and the remainder were counted as wise because they took oil with them. Eventually, everyone’s lamps were extinguished, and the five who took oil were able to reignite their lamps, ultimately leading them to the bridegroom when he arrived.
“The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps.” Matthew 25:4
Jesus points out that those who took care to steward their readiness went with the bridegroom, while those who didn’t were left behind. The ready women went in with the bridegroom to the marriage feast. They were ready women who stayed ready.
Stewardship is not just a good idea; it is a kingdom principle that results in prosperity.
In the parable, the wedding feast represents the kingdom of God, along with its blessings and rewards, demonstrating that prosperity is rewarded to those who steward well spiritually. Here are two practical steps you can take from the five ready women to maintain spiritual stewardship and walk in prosperity:
- Remain anointed. The five ready women brought extra oil, and oil represents the anointing of God. Stay in the Word and close to God so that you can remain anointed.
- Protect and expand your purpose. The five ready women protected their purpose by telling the five foolish women “no” when they asked to share their oil. Don’t be afraid to say no when it preserves your purpose.
As a ready woman, the anointing of God illuminates your path, leading you to prosperity by helping you make the right decisions and choices daily so you can stay ready.
Today’s Affirmation
There is a new light illuminating my path, and it is sourced in God. God is lighting my path, making my way straight. He is anointing my head with oil, my cup is running over. I am experiencing prosperity in every place I need it, and it is overflowing. I receive these blessings with a thankful heart.
