Use the Word of God to Overcome Mind Battlesنموونە
Capture Every Thought
No one ever taught me how to capture every thought and make my thoughts obedient to Christ as Scripture tells us. I didn’t have anyone to mentor me on this, and the church I attended didn’t teach it. So fear would torment me. Vain imaginations manifested and false scenarios would play out in my mind. No matter how many books I read, I couldn’t find one that truly helped with mind battles, particularly when it came to capturing fearful thoughts that galloped through my brain. Instead of dismissing the thought, I would entertain it. It would plague my mind while I was on my way to speak at conferences, when I was alone at home, and even when I was supposed to be relaxing on vacation. I didn’t have the tools to capture my thoughts, so I stayed in bondage.
Whether you struggle with fear, anxiety, rejection, anger, offense, or any other emotional stronghold, you can capture every thought. Every stronghold, including addiction, temptation, sin, and runaway emotions, all have one commonality: they are all a battle that plays a tug-of-war in your mind. But you can win the war!
Our minds are meant to be creative, but when they are not disciplined, we allow our thoughts to scatter and wander in different directions. The battlefield of the mind is intense, so we need to be intentional and focused in our thinking.
We don’t have to fight with worldly weapons. The Holy Spirit will assign spiritual weapons and divine tactics to us through the spirit of revelation.
When we take a thought captive, we should make it obey the Messiah. In other words, we need to examine the thoughts in our minds and make sure they obey our Lord and align with the Word of God. Any thought that doesn’t is stinking thinking, and you need to ditch it and pitch it!
Taking our thoughts captive requires some work on our part. We must make a conscious effort to stay focused, think positively, and cast down any word that does not align with Scripture.
We all know practice makes perfect, so how can we practice perfecting our thoughts? Use your will, that strong part of you, to be downright ornery and stubborn against any counterproductive thoughts you shouldn’t be entertaining.
We hope this Plan encouraged you.
