Seeing Yourself Through the Eyes of Christ a 6-Day Devotional by Dr. Robyn L. Gobinنموونە
Consume Truth
Knowing the truth is one thing, but believing the truth is entirely different. Knowing something means we are aware of it; believing implies we have accepted it as truth—you have confidence in it. When you have spent years rehearsing the lies, and they become severely embedded in your identity, it can be difficult to believe the truth. Going from knowing the truth to believing the truth takes time and repetition. It’s not enough to ingest truth once weekly while attending church service or once daily in our quiet time with God. As instructed in Colossians 3:16 (NLT), we must fill our lives with truth so that it becomes deeply ingrained in our hearts and minds.
What we allow in the gates of our eyes and ears influences what we believe about ourselves. And, in turn, how we feel about ourselves. We have no choice but to be impacted by truth if we’re constantly consuming it through the things we watch, listen to, and read.
What does this look like practically? It means ensuring that our social media feeds are infused with the truth of God by following fellow believers. It means listening to worship music, singing our favorite hymns, and allowing the words to minister to our hearts. It means surrounding ourselves with people who will speak the truth to us.
Renewing the mind is a daily practice. It requires minimizing or removing things that distort the truth or distract us from it. Adding in people, experiences, and content that illuminates truth is essential.
Verse of the Day: 1 Corinthians 10:23
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for providing numerous ways to absorb your truth. You have blessed me with songs, hymns, Christian books, podcasts, preachers of the word, and your Scriptures. Give me the courage and desire to always seek your truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

About this Plan
What you think about yourself matters. We can’t live fully surrendered to God while maintaining allegiance with lies that distort our vision of who we are. We position ourselves to be fully used for God’s good purposes when we know and believe the truth of who God says we are. This 6-day plan will equip you with practical strategies to break free from the lies and embrace the truth.
