One of the greatest accomplishments Solomon made as king was building the Temple in Jerusalem. It was big, it was grandiose, and it was expensive and yet it waned in comparison to what God deserves.
The reality of our humanity is that the greatest of efforts still fall short of what God deserves. The problem is not our efforts, the problem is sin. Sin creates a divide that can’t be overcome by our efforts and accomplishments. But the good news of the gospel is that there is hope and a solution to this problem; His name is Jesus! He lived a perfect life, died on the cross, and rose again. He grants us the reward of His perfect life so that we are no longer dependent on our efforts. It then falls on us to respond. We respond to the gospel by surrendering our lives to God and by trying to live more like Jesus each day.
What is The Gospel?
How would you define sin?
What does it mean that Jesus is our hope?
What does it mean to surrender our lives?
What jumped out to you the most through today’s scriptures?
