Born to Fly Like an Eagle!نموونە
The Eyesight
Did you know that eagles can see about eight times as far as humans? All birds of prey have excellent long-distance vision, but the eagle stands out. With their strong eyes, they can spot a rabbit 3.2 km away!
You could say they have a sharp focus on what they want.
Even though that little rabbit is still 3 kilometers away, the eagle is already preparing to get there. That's kind of what it's like to have a vision: preparation to reach a far-off destination.
So, how can you discover where God wants you to contribute, to direct your vision?
There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. We’re all different, just like eagles: one hunts salmon, another monkey.
There is a place where you can start, though: your dreams.
We all dream, or have dreamt, about something.
I don’t mean the kind of dream you have when you sleep (although it can be; think of Joseph), but rather, a notion in your head and heart that triggers your passion(s); the imagination of what could be; an aspiration; an image of where you want to go in life; a preferred situation, or a vision.
You may have had dreams when you were younger.
Perhaps they faded away.
Perhaps you were not allowed to follow that dream, for whatever reason.
But the thing is, dreams are important! We just don’t take them seriously.
The educational and societal institutions as they exist are very supportive when dreams are realistic and practical—however, dreams rarely are. They go beyond imaginable power and ability because that is the very nature of God.
Prayer
Holy Spirit, I know You declare the things to come. Will You guide me into the truth? The Bible says that You, God, will reveal the desires of my heart when I am close to You. Lord, I want to be close to You. I long for Your presence in my life and my heart. Holy Spirit, fill my thoughts with Yours so that the dreams that I have for this life are built upon Your holiness and will.
Reflection
What vision/dream has God put on your mind?
