Advent - the Gift Devotionalنموونە
“Give thanks that God took on flesh”
And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:14)
What if I told you Bill Gates, the wealthiest man in the world, had turned away from all of his zillions and become a garbage collector in Houston, Texas?
Now Mr. Gates gets up every morning at 3:00 a.m., rides on the back of a truck, and collects your trash and mine. What if I told you Bill is going to continue that job exclusively for 33 years? That would be a change in his lifestyle, would it not?!
Well, that’s a very small change compared to the radical change the Son of God made when He came down and took on human flesh. It’s infinitely smaller. The King of the entire universe became a human being!
Tonight, look up at the stars and consider the size of the universe. As you do, think about the God who created that universe and how He came to earth as a human to save you. And give thanks.
