God's Gloryنموونە
When Jesus returns, His glory will be visible to everyone
“Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” (Matthew 24:30)
As long as Jesus was on earth, His glory was hidden. Those who paid close attention could catch glimpses of it, for example in the miracles Jesus performed and in the authority with which He spoke. But in general, His deity was not visible. Even now that Jesus has returned to heaven, His power is visible only if you look with ‘eyes of faith’. There is no absolute physical evidence. But one day, that will change. Jesus will return to earth, and then He will be visible to all. He will not come as a man, but as the ultimate Ruler “with power and great glory.” He will sit on “His glorious throne” (Matthew 25:31) and judge all nations.
For people who believe in Him, this is a great moment. It is the fulfillment of their longing for the fullness of God's Kingdom.
But for people who reject Jesus now and do not believe in Him, it will be a terrible moment. Then it will become clear that they have made the wrong choice and must bear the consequences of that choice.
How do you await this day: in unbelief, with fear or full of longing?
About this Plan
The Bible speaks much of God's glory, expressed by the words כָּבוֹד (in Hebrew) and δόξα (in Greek). This is God’s heavenly splendor and majesty that sometimes becomes visible on earth. This reading plan will show you how great God is and how you as a believer can share in His glory.
