God's Glory

DAY 13 OF 13

Sharing in God's glory

“When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.” (Colossians 3:4)

As a believer, you belong to Jesus. All too often that implies being laughed at or scorned. You share in His suffering. And sometimes that's pretty tough! But, we are assured, if you are attached to Jesus then you are also “a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed” (1 Peter 5:1). When Jesus appears in glory, all those who belong to Him will also receive “the unfading crown of glory.” He will give them an honorable position in His Kingdom.

Paul tells us that he suffered much for the Gospel. His life was a real struggle, but he persevered. When he felt that the moment of his death was approaching, he looked longingly ahead to the crown he would receive from the Lord. He was convinced that the difficulties he had faced on earth were outweighed by the glory that awaited him.

What does your life look like? Are you struggling because of your faith? Then keep in mind that this life is only temporary and God's glory far surpasses all earthly difficulties! His is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.

About this Plan

God's Glory

The Bible speaks much of God's glory, expressed by the words כָּבוֹד (in Hebrew) and δόξα (in Greek). This is God’s heavenly splendor and majesty that sometimes becomes visible on earth. This reading plan will show you how great God is and how you as a believer can share in His glory.
