Wholeness

DAY 1 OF 10

ALL OF YOU

Wholeness is about understanding our identity in Christ from a holistic perspective: spirit, soul, and body. The root word for "soul" is the word "psyche" - "psyche" is where the root word for "psychology" comes from. In other words, understanding how we think, feel and behave in the context of our identity in Christ is crucial to the journey of wholeness. The message version of Psalm 18:20 says, "God made my life complete when I placed all the pieces before him" - this is the goal of this plan - to help you identify pieces of your life that are stuck and that need to heal.

Wholeness is also an ongoing process during which our transformation as believers is two-fold: Firstly, we are justified and declared by God as righteous based on the perfect righteousness of Christ. Secondly, we are being sanctified through the continuous work of the Holy Spirit. Whereby He purifies the sinner and renews the sinful nature into the image of God. The two-fold transformation is therefore positional – "I am a child of God" - and progressive – "who is becoming more like Christ."

The ultimate good news is that we are in a partnership with God on this journey, and when we apply truth with courage, He strengthens us to endure the race set before us.

As we embark on this journey, I want you to consider how differently you would live your life if you fully understood what it truly means to be a son or daughter of the King?

That is my prayer for you as you work through this reading plan.

QUESTIONS TO CONSIDER:

  • Do you fully understand what it means to be a child of God?
  • What beliefs, fears, and insecurities do you want God to heal?

PRAY:

Dear God, today I open the book of my life story to you. Today I choose to walk with you on this journey of wholeness. Reveal the parts of me to which you wish to bring healing and wholeness. I pray that you will be a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.

About this Plan

Wholeness

Psalms 18:20-24 says, “GOD made my life complete when I placed all the pieces before him.” Wholeness is a 14-day journey of intentionally learning how to bring all the parts of ourselves before Him - spirit, soul, and body. It is about intentionally building our identity in Christ and not creation.
