Unpreferred: A Journey to Discovering You Are God's Plan Aنموونە
I was chosen. Not because of my intellect, skin color, economic status, or influence. God picked me because He loves me, to do the works He had planned for me even before I became a reality. For decades, I felt unpreferred and passed over for various opportunities for advancement. But through scripture and prayer, God showed me that I was preferred and prepared me for what He called me to do even when feeling forgotten. I cried and felt nothing but relief and gratitude when I realized it. God had gone before me and charted my course. My part was to surrender to his guidance and leadership. There was no reason to compare, feel inadequate, or believe that my window of opportunity to live the life He has for me had passed. So, when I felt passed up for an opportunity or left out of a project meeting, I was at peace because whatever the outcome, I was already chosen and His masterpiece.
A masterpiece is something artistic or extraordinary created with incredible skill. When working with a masterpiece, curators ensure it is secured and protected; put on display for the world to see and enjoy its beauty. Think of the Mona Lisa by Leonardo Da Vinci or the Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh. If something so spectacular, created by humans, can be held with such high value, how much more are you beautifully and uniquely crafted by the God of the universe?
God has chosen you and calls you His masterpiece. Despite what you may have experienced, please know you are not an afterthought; God had plans for you before you could have thought to have goals for yourself, and He watches over His work - you. God is aware of the challenges and setbacks you experience and will use them all for His glory. So, when in a situation where another person is chosen or preferred over you, remember that you are God's Masterpiece, created to accomplish His plans for you from long ago.
You are loved. You are preferred! Affirm that with this quick prayer:
"Father, I know You love me. I believe I am your preferred one, your chosen one, even when my circumstances don't make me feel like it. I praise and thank You for having the whole picture in Your hands."
