Unpreferred: A Journey to Discovering You Are God's Plan A

DAY 4 OF 5

No one expected the movie to end the way it did. Indeed, Princess Ana's curse would be broken by true love's kiss, or so we thought. Her sacrificial act of love, risking her life to save her sister, Princess Elsa, broke the curse. That climactic twist caught us all by surprise and made Frozen I, the movie, a favorite in my household. A story is never good without a climactic end, and God always writes a fantastic story! When you think your decision to believe God is simply to receive what He's promised you, God reveals a much bigger plan - His plan. A plan to bless you and generations after you.

God blessed Leah and made her fruitful in her despair. Leah turned her heart to God when she felt unloved by Jacob and gave Him glory even when things did not appear to improve in her life. She birthed Judah in this attitude, and the wow factor … Jesus ...happened!

Our Savior, Jesus, came from the genealogy of Judah. Judah was born out of a heart that looked to God. God blessed Leah, and He gave her a son whose loins would carry the lineage of the Son of God. What a privilege and powerful testimony! The world's Savior came from the line of an unloved woman, who was considered unpreferred, and a plan B!

The situation in which you feel unpreferred is fertile ground for God to plant a seed of blessing for you and generations after you. Cultivate this season with a focus on Him through prayer and praise. If someone received a promotion in your stead, congratulate and support them. Did another friend get hitched, and you are still single? Sow a seed of rejoicing with them. Are you a small business owner watching other owners soar in their business? Continue to do the right thing in your business and congratulate them on their success. God is a good Father; He will give you a double share of honor for your shame and reproach.

So, if you are wondering if He even cares about the situation in which you feel unwanted, forgotten, or unpreferred, be encouraged. He knows how to write an award-winning narrative, a story that not only brings Him glory but ends with all working out for your good.

God prefers you; He is birthing something great in you!
