You Can't Please Everyone…
Many years ago—I must have been about seventeen years old—I was somehow invited to sing at a regional church event.
As a pastor of one of the churches, my father was one of the leaders, so he attended the review of the conference. The leaders discussed what had gone well and where improvement was needed.
What needed improvement, in their eyes, was "this young woman's performance." My performance. "She was just trying to put herself out there…" Ouch, how that hurt! Yes, it cost me some tears, but it didn't change anything about the dreams God had placed inside of me.
You see,I knew my motivation. I knew why I wanted to sing on that stage. Yes, I might have worn a little too much makeup at that age and maybe my high heels were a few inches too high, but my heart and motivation were absolutely right!
It might sound a little crazy, but thank the Lord I never felt that inner pressure to please everyone! Because in that case, I'd have to change my clothes five times during a service and shoot all different versions of my music videos to satisfy everyone!
I've been blessed that from a young age, I've known that I am wanted the way I am.
"and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are" (1 Corinthians 1:28, NKJV)
The dreams inside of me are God-given, and I won't let them be taken away from me! "'Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin…'" (Zechariah 4:10, NLT).
I'm going to tell you something you might not have heard before: you don't always have to change something about yourself…sometimes you may just need to change where you are. The Lord is faithful…He will show you!
I pray this assurance over you that you are wanted and that the dreams within you are precious, so precious that you must not let anyone take them away from you. Walking in these truths will be instrumental in helping you find the peace your heart longs for!
You're a miracle!

About this Plan
Sometimes, all of the sudden, unwanted factors come into our lives and try to steal our peace. And often, it's the same ones that attempt to do so over and over again. In this series, I’d like to take a closer look at these factors with you. How can we unmask and disable them once and for all?
