Daily Bible Reading – June 2022: God’s Renewing Word of New Life in the Spiritنموونە
June 7
Introduction
Peter continues his speech and proclaims that Jesus, a descendant of David, is the Messiah. He invites the people to be baptized, and three thousand new believers are baptized in one day. The reading concludes with a description of the early church gathering each day for prayer and fellowship.
Scripture Reading
Acts 2:29-47
Today’s Key Verse: Acts 2:39
[Peter said:] “God’s promise was made to you and your children, and to all who are far away—all whom the Lord our God calls to himself.”
Reflect
How did people react to Peter’s message (verse 37)? What did Peter tell them (verses 38-40)? What is the promise he speaks of? What does that promise mean to you? How is life among the believers described in verses 43-47? How would you describe life among members of your community of faith?
Pray
I thank you, Lord God, for the gift of your Holy Spirit and your promise of forgiveness in Jesus’s name. Bind all believers in close fellowship to worship and serve you. Amen.
Tomorrow’s Reading
Acts 9:1-25: Saul, a persecutor of the church, encounters Jesus on the road to Damascus.
