You Are Called to be a Saintنموونە
Jesus makes believers holy and without fault
“Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her, that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that He might present the church to Himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.” (Ephesians 5:25-27)
Becoming a saint is not just a personal development goal of Christians that they have committed to. It is the ultimate goal of Jesus’ salvation work to have a holy church without blemish. For this goal, He has given His life so that whoever believes in Him is cleansed from sin. And we can be sure that He will bring His good work of sanctification in us to completion (Philippians 1:6). It does not depend on us but Him. He will present us holy and blameless and above reproach before Him. For this goal, He makes all things in our lives work together (Romans 8:28).
We often don’t understand our circumstances and the things happening to us. We are confused and upset. We often feel disappointed in ourselves and see so many imperfections and character flaws. But we can rest in this great truth: Jesus Christ will fulfill His purpose with our lives, which is to present us to Himself like a bride in all her beauty.
We are called to try hard to be without sin. But in the end, it is God’s work to make us holy. And He will not give up before achieving His goal!
