“The Faithfulness of God"
I want us to revisit the faithfulness of God, like King David did over his life. A beautiful reality is that God is faithful to those who love Him even when we are not. The Bible says, “His mercies are new every morning.”
He truly does care for us, and he can handle anything we throw at Him, including our fears. Pastor and author Steven Furtick once wrote that all we need to know about God comes from that simple, little prayer you hear children pray: God is great and God is good.
Why are these two characteristics so foundational to our faith? Because if God was good, but weak, He would love us and care for us but not be able to save, rescue, and deliver us.
If God was great, but not good, He would be terrifying. He would be all-powerful (and He is), but what would He do with all that power? Would He destroy us?
Thankfully, we don’t have to wonder or worry. God is great and God is good. He holds the universe in His hands. He’s strong. He’s mighty. He’s all-powerful, and nothing is too hard for Him.
He is also loving, compassionate, and full of mercy, grace, and truth. As the Psalmist says, “His love endures forever.” He cares for us and is quick to listen to our cries for help and mercy. What a great and good God!
Today, just reflect on God’s greatness, His goodness, and His faithfulness.
