Esther, Born for Such a Time as This

DAY 11 OF 28

Day after day, Mordecai persisted in not bowing down to Haman. What was his reasoning? In addition to God's command that Jews not bow before men and idols, Haman was an Amalekite, an eternal enemy of the Jews. Before this, Haman had never noticed Mordecai, but now he doesn’t just want to kill him, he wants to annihilate the entire Jewish people.

Decide to whom you will bow down and to whom you will not. Will you bow down to King Jesus? Jesus has crushed our eternal enemy; He is our redeemer. He is worthy and deserves our worship. Put aside everything that keeps you from bowing down to our one, true King Jesus; persevere together with Him as you refuse to bow to anyone or anything that comes from His opposer. Do not bow to worldly power, money, or influence. Rather, use the influence you do have for God’s cause.

Are you willing to bow to Jesus? To put down everything that holds you back from doing so?

Prayer: Father, thank You for everything I can learn from every text in Your Word. Help me to be wise and to bow only to Your Son, King Jesus. Help me not to bow down under the pressure of what the world asks or or offers me. Thank You for Your Spirit who will help me to persevere; and thank You for being ever-present, even when You don’t seem to be. I praise You that my history, my present, and my future are in Your hand. That is why I am so safe with You, because You know what is to come. Amen.

About this Plan

Esther, Born for Such a Time as This

In this plan, we will take you through the book of Esther. We can admire Esther's courage, but we should see the whole picture: Esther, too, needed to be reminded of Who rules and that her life is in His hand. We pray that Esther's story inspires you to see God's hand in your life. God has intentionally placed you where you are for such a time as this.
