Move Forward With God's Help!نموونە
How do you see yourself?
Your self-worth will either help you move forward or hinder you. When God looks at you, what does He see? When you look at yourself, what do you see? I’m asking you to answer these two pressing questions by the end of this day.
I didn’t discover Christ until I was twenty years old. My self-esteem was based on performance and the approval of others. Those are two very treacherous foundations for someone who wants to be healthy and happy. I also had a big problem with my father. I felt rejected by him, and I struggled with depression.
What are you struggling with today?
I resorted to alcohol abuse, anger, and other self-destructive behaviors.
After I invited Jesus into my life, I realized my emotions and thoughts didn’t automatically change. I still battled poor self-esteem and the feeling that God was usually mad at me. I had a hard time understanding that God loved me unconditionally. I realized I needed to change my thinking. In the book of Romans, Paul encourages us to “...not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:2, NKJV)
I’ve got some really great news for you. When God sees you, He sees perfection. He calls you “...God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10, NIV) When God looks at you, He sees you through a filter called Jesus. You have been, and continue to be, forgiven.
Do you believe this? Isn’t it time that you see yourself through the same filter as God sees you? Repeat after me: “I’m fearfully and wonderfully made. I’m His work of art.” It’s time to accept God’s grace. You can live with a distorted view of yourself, but you cannot blame this view on God. In His mind, “you are a miracle.”
