Move Forward With God's Help!

DAY 4 OF 7

Ants are everywhere 🐜

Moving forward requires courage, so you’ll have to destroy your ANTs.

Have you ever had an ant problem in your backyard or home? Ants can ruin a family picnic or romantic getaway for you and your special somebody. There are many types of ants; some can bite you, and some can eat away at the structure of your home. Do you know what these ants are called? That’s right...fire ants and carpenter ants. But let’s look at another type of ant that Dr. Daniel Amen, a noted psychiatrist, discusses. This type of ant can destroy your emotional, relational, and spiritual lives. ANTs is an acronym that stands for Automatic Negative Thoughts.

Have you ever challenged some of the thoughts that come into your brain? Not every thought is healthy or helpful. The Bible tells us, “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:5, NIV)

Some of these ANTs sound like “I’m ugly, I’m stupid, or I’m a clutz. I’ll never find a husband or wife. I’ll never be happy. Bad things always happen to me. I could never forgive myself for that.” ANTs thoughts are negative and produce feelings that will only hurt you. They are factories of toxic chemicals that can destroy your entire life.

Paul tells us in Romans, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” (Romans 12:2, NIV)

It’s time to get rid of the ANTs in our brains. We need to confront our subconscious self-talk and speak life into every situation.

If you confront and destroy these ANTs, they won’t destroy you. Never forget that you are unique and gifted, born to do miracles.

Your friend, Paul Marc Goulet
