Praying To Protect His Name

Moses interceded for the Israelites to God when God had declared his intention to destroy the Israelites because of their sin. In his prayer, Moses intercedes that the destruction of the Israelites would only defame the character of God as the world would say that God delivered them from Egypt with the evil intention of destroying them. Moses did not want the name of God to be defamed as an evil God. In our prayer life and through our actions, let us, as His representatives, ensure that His name and character are not put to shame.

Lord God, we pray that your name is always exalted and the whole world knows your greatness in character. And when we intercede for others, let us be bold in praying for your mercy, love and forgiveness to come upon them even so that your name as a loving, caring God will be exalted. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
