Beginner's Guide to Fastingنموونە

Fasting is a spiritual weapon, and as such, we need to be ready spiritually to partake in the battle.
Before embarking on a fast, confess your sins to God, repent, and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal areas of weakness within you.
Take some time to forgive all who have offended you and ask for forgiveness from those you have offended. Romans 12 instructs us to reject all worldly desires that try to hinder us so we may fully surrender our life to Jesus Christ.
Setting time apart to ensure your heart is right before the Lord is crucial to having an effective fast.
Today’s Prayer:
Lord, forgive me because I know I have sinned against You. May Your Holy Spirit continue to transform my mind. I want to live by the Spirit and do Your will, help me surrender my life completely to You.

The practice of fasting is prevalent in the Scriptures. We see throughout the Bible this concept was practiced by kings, prophets, and all of God’s people to this day. As you fast, you’ll notice it will help increase your humility, your hunger, and your holiness as you are formed into the image of Christ.
